About the event
On October 28 2023, the Mauritanian Network for Human Rights in The US organized the first ever Mauritania Day in Columbus, Ohio, or in The US.
The aim of the day was to bring Mauritanians, the community and organizational partners under the same space to talk about the last 4 years of advocacy, to take a pause, to talk about the challenges, celebrate the wins, and vouch to continue to work together for this great cause.
It was also important to thank our partners for standing with us in the most challenging times for our community.
It was also an honor that the City of Columbus joined us, to celebrate and officially name October 28 of each year Mauritania Day from this day on MAURITANIA DAY, in honor of the Many Mauritanians that have chosen to call Ohio and Columbus home.
